Certification Programs
How to join a certification program:
When you create your student page with an admin, you will have the option to join one of the certification programs listed on the website. We have new certification programs that are added all the time. You also have the option to change, or add new certifications to your student page whenever you want to. Once you join the program you will need to complete the classes, book reports, exams, and apprenticeships required for the certification. Please read the sections below to understand how to complete your certification programs.
How to complete a certification program:
Go to the certification page on the website. Click on the certification that you have joined, then click on class info. You will see a list of classes and a list of exams. The classes listed on the class list are the mandatory classes that you must attend live on zoom or in person in order to complete the certification. There may be additional courses offered that are not mandatory and students are encouraged to attend as many classes as they can. It is required that you attend the mandatory classes to complete the certification. The exam will cover a lot more than the mandatory classes. To see what the exam will cover, click on the exam guide button underneath the list of exams. To study for your exams you can attend classes or study on your own using the study guide section on the website, or the class recordings on YouTube. When you feel like you are ready to take an exam contact Alex to schedule it. The exam will take about two hours, and if you pass it will be documented on your student page. You can take the exams at any time. You do not need to complete the mandatory classes before taking your exams. Once you have taken every mandatory class, completed every exam, finished your book report, and completed your private apprenticeships you will graduate and receive your certification.
If you are unable to complete the classes live on zoom, or in person, then you are welcome to watch the class recordings of the mandatory classes instead. The class recordings can be found on our YouTube channel or in the study guide section of this website. If you watch the class recording, instead of attending it live, then you must turn in a 4 paragraph essay explaining what you learned in class. This essay will not be graded. It will just be read, and put onto your student page so that we know you watched the class. Please turn your essay into Alex after watching the class recording.
What are private apprenticeships?
A private apprenticeship is when a student works privately with a professor and completes one on one classes. The professor will decide how many classes you will take with them. All of these classes can be done on zoom, or in person.
When a certification says that an apprenticeship is needed, you will be allowed to pick any apprenticeship. You can pick your professor and the apprenticeship you’re drawn to. For example, if you’re completing a Tarot Certification you can do an Astrology apprenticeship. You do not have to do the Tarot apprenticeship. Everything in witchcraft is tied together and circular, so something like Herbalism or Astrology would help you with Tarot, Palm Reading, Runes, etc.
To set up your apprenticeship speak with Alex and she will get you set up with the professor you would like to work with.
What is a book report?
Pick any book from the bibliography section and write a report on it. The report must be 3+ pages long. This report is not graded. Once you finish the book report give it to Alex and let her know if it’s okay to share your work with everyone at the academy. Sharing your essays and book reports is encouraged to help other students understand the information. Book reports are meant to help you critically think about what you have read. They are to help you understand the information you're reading, and retain everything you have learned. Your book report can be on any book that you choose from the DiviNation bibliography, it does not have to specifically connect to the certification that you are completing. All of the certification programs require a book report.
