Greek Goddesses
Gaia:
Mother Earth, she is the personification of the earth. The goddess of creation, death, and the circle of life, as well as the embodiment of the earth itself.
Demeter:
Goddess of harvest, plants, trees, flowers, all things that grow. She is the mother of Persephone. Demeter, Persephone, and Hades are the reason for the seasons.
Hecate:
Goddess of magic, witchcraft, and necromancy. She is the goddess of crossroads and decision making, the holy trinity, maiden, mother, and crone.
Irish Goddesses:
Brigid:
The goddess of fertility, spring, healing, and poetry. Brigid was a goddess full of contradiction. She was a goddess of healing, fertility, and motherhood, but also of passion and fire. Brigid was also a goddess of serenity and water. Evidence of her worship has been found throughout Ireland. When she was not protecting mothers and newborn children, Brigid inspired many of the internationally renowned writers and poets. Brigid often appeared as a fiery haired goddess wearing a cloak of sunbeam. She appears primarily in the form of a maiden or a mother, depending on the tale. These multiple forms may have been reflective of her status as a triple goddess.
Mother Danu:
Danu is the Mother Goddess of the Tuatha de Danann and one of the most well known of the Irish Gods and Goddesses. She gave birth to many other Irish Gods and Goddesses and is therefore the high Mother Goddess of the Tuatha. The Irish Celts believed Danu was the creator of the Earth from her womb flowed the rivers of life which gave birth to the world.
