Finding polarities or opposites

Ironically, opposites in the zodiac actually mean they are complimentary. When looking for a sign’s opposite, we keep the mode and gender the same, but the elements are different.

However, the elements of opposite signs will always be compatible.

Eample: Fixed Fire's opposite is Fixed Air. Fire and Air are both masculine. We are looking for the fixed mode in each element for opposites, therefore the opposite of fixed fire is fixed air.
