Week 9 – Gingerbread cupcakes
So instead of a meal I decided to let’s do dessert. In my eyes dessert can be a meal. Lol..
So, with it being the time of year one of the things I have always loved is making cupcakes and having the smell of the warm scents of ginger, cinnamon, and things that remind me of that warmth of family.
So, to start my magic, I have lit my vanilla bean candle to mix with the spices I will be using. I am going to put my intentions of warmth, peace, love, happiness, and just passion of the cupcakes I will be sharing with my family.
Magic ingredients
Ginger – Using ginger in the spell and potion work for the following love spells, protection spells, success spells. You can also use ginger in helping with digestive system issues.
Cinnamon – Well as we all know this is a spice that witches love, when you place cinnamon brooms on the door they protect the home, you can use cinnamon in different spells and potions as well as speeding up the manifestation progress.
Nutmeg – You can carry as a good luck charm and to feel protected. Nutmeg can also help with dream work or astral projection when burned during the process. You can use nutmeg as well in love spells.
Salt – As we know salt is used in a lot of different ways. The most common way is that of creating our sacred space to keep out the negative or unwanted energy.
Baking Soda – Sprinkling a little baking soda at the entrance of a door keeps off the negative energy and banishes anyone from entering if they bring ill will.
Water – Like salt water is used from making different moon waters to our everyday spell work
Sugar – Well like salt repelling things from us. Sugar is something that attracts. If you want it, you would use sugar to get it.
Vanilla extract – so like regular vanilla bean and vanilla product vanilla extract is used to also attract with the spell work in love spells, and friendship spells
Ingredients
For the cupcakes
1 stick of unsalted butter (I leave mine at room temperature)
½ cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 cup molasses
2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground ginger
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
½ teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons of baking soda
1 cup of boiling water
For the frosting
4 cups of confectioners’ sugar
1 - 8-ounce cream cheese soften
2 sticks of unsalted butter room temp again
1 tablespoon vanilla extract (sometimes I will add a little more then a tablespoon)
Ground cinnamon for decorating
Directions:
1. Heat your oven to 350 degrees and set up cupcake liners. If you want larger cupcakes, it will make 12 and take a little longer to cook, but normal size cupcakes it makes about 24.
2. Making the cupcakes is the fun part for me always. This is where I start to put those intentions in to the mix, start adding that love, and peace and protection you want your family to have with them always. You are going to beat the butter and sugar in a large bowl with a hand mixer I would say do it on medium speed until the butter and sugar is fluffy. Then you want to take one egg at a time and beat them in, beat in the molasses making sure you when you are beating all the ingredients to swipe the side of the bowl to get them to mix all the way.
3. Start with another bowl to start shifting the flour (now if you don’t have shifter, you an old metal grease strainer this way you get it shifted all the way and you won’t have no clumps), you want to sift the spices, salt into the bowl as well. From there you take the butter mixture you just made and combine it with the flour mixture. Make sure you beat all the ingredients together or just enough till they are combined.
4. Take a small bowl with the boiling water and combine the baking soda. From there you will combine that to the mixture you just made with the flour and spices. (It will be a little runny. Don’t worry it is alright)
5. You want to fill up your cupcake cups and cook them for about 20 to 25 minutes until you stick a toothpick in them to come out clean with just crumbs. Let them cool. While they cool you will work on the frosting.
6. You will take the confectioners’ sugar, cream cheese, butter and vanilla and place them in a large bowl and mix on low speed until all the items are mixed and then bump that baby up in speed. You want to have a smooth frosting.
7. Here is the fun part or at least what my kid always say is fun. Get a spoon. You know those serving spoons and get a nice large scoop and plop it on that cupcake. Sprinkle some that extra cinnamon on that cupcake and presto you got a gingerbread cupcake. Now if you want it all pretty like you can do it in a piping bag, but hey it is dessert it is meant to be messy right.
Well enjoy and let me know how they taste. 😊
